Co-Owner, Director of Training, Lead Hitting Instructor – Crush Baseball
Driveline Certified Hitting Instructor
Former President – Brewster Little League

Coach Richie Anderson brings over 20 years of coaching, training, and leadership experience to The Dugout. A lifelong student of the game, Richie is a Driveline Certified Hitting Instructor known for his deep understanding of biomechanics, swing efficiency, and the mental side of hitting. His approach combines cutting-edge science with old-school grit, making him a powerful mentor for developing players.

Richie grew up in Oneonta, NY, where he fell in love with sports at the Oneonta Boys Club—spending countless hours studying movement and honing his athletic instincts. That same attention to detail followed him into his professional life, where he served as a decorated Detective and Commanding Officer of the Bronxville Police Department’s Detective Bureau. His rare ability to analyze movement and behavior—both on the field and in the field—has made him a uniquely effective coach and leader.

An all-star multi-sport athlete in high school, Richie held records in career and single-season home runs. He went on to play both baseball and basketball at nationally ranked SUNY Schenectady while majoring in Criminal Justice. He also spent time in Cooperstown, NY as a Certified Personal Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coach at the prestigious Clark Sports Center.

After 9/11, Richie answered the call to public service and joined the NYPD, where he also played as a placekicker for the semi-pro NYPD football team. He spent 16 years as a certified New York State Youth Officer, training extensively in childhood and adolescent psychology. These experiences continue to shape his player-first coaching philosophy, focused on long-term development, mindset, and character.

As Co-Founder of Brewster Crush Baseball and Co-Owner of The Dugout, Coach Richie is driven by a singular goal: to help athletes understand, trust, and own their process—on and off the field.

“Trust the process, enjoy the struggle, and relish in the small victories.”
